The morning after pill is what caused the bleeding. It will also put your cycle out of sync temporarily.

First of all, congratulations on being a responsible adult and taking control of your own health and wellness. I am not a doctor, nor are any of the people who answered your question. I can honestly tell you that they are all not correct because the ONLY person who can explain exactly what is taking place would be your prescribing doctor. I suggest calling your doctor is the pain worsens or if you have concerns. You took a great amount of maturity and insight to take that pill, continue to be brave and do not hesitate to contact a doctor if symptoms worsen.

As for my OPINION on what may be taking place- your hormones are actively being altered. This could cause nausea and stomach pain. The altered hormones could cause bleeding. It's difficult to say if it really a 'period' but it is normal. Both the morning after pill hormonal changes and a period hormonal influx can cause nausea. If I were in your situation I wouldn't worry why you are having the pain but focus on finding relief and doing what is best for your body.

The entire purpose of the morning after pill is to start your period so that the fertilized egg is not capable of attaching to the uterine wall. It's naturally going to cause cramping and bleeding.

the morning after pill is basically a really strong birth control pill, and it can worsen the effects of your period. So I'd say probably both.
