Sore skin around vagina after period?!

Question: Sore skin around vagina after period?
I noticed after my period last month that the area was very red, sore and incredibly itchy.
I went to the doctor and i was tested for bacterial infections, STDs/STIs and thrush, all came back negative.
Doctor gave me thrush cream anyway to soothe the area, and it went away after a few days but now its back now ive just finished this months period.
Now i think that maybe im allergic to my sanitary towels or i leave them on too long. Does anyone else get these symptoms? Should i go back to the doctor/nurse and talk to them about it?

Answers:

Yes, it could be that you're allergic to the pads you're using. Try using a different brand, and see if that helps.

Also, are you using the scented pads? A lot of times, the girl can be allergic to the sort of perfume stuff they put in the scented pads. So try non-scented if that's what you're not already using.

Other than that, if neither of those ideas work, you can always try the reusable pads. They're made out of cotton and the same materials your underwear is made out of, so that probably won't bother you.

Or maybe for some odd reason you're allergic to your period blood...I really don't know if that's possible, but it's an idea.

But just to be safe, you can certainly always go back to your doctor/nurse and see what they say about it.
