Question: My period has been going on for weeks now HELP!!?
while i was overseas i didnt get my period when i was supposed to and i wasnt eating much because i always felt full, but when i came back i got my period straight away but it would come out in spots and then stop, then the following week it got heavy and it stayed like that for two weeks and stopped again, now it's come back again and i dont think it's going to go by the end of the week. I'm fourteen and really worried about it. My friends say it's because i changed my diet and was travelling but i'm not sure. HELP!!

Every woman is different when it comes to periods..but at some point in every womans life she may experience little to heavy bleeding it is a natural thing.. By what you've described it sounds like you don't have to worry too much..but about your heavy bleeding it is a fairly serious problem especially if you start losing too much blood so I do advise to go see your dr asap..You may find that your just experiencing a hormonal imbalance and they might just prescribe you the contraceptive pill to reduce the bleeding if it becomes a serious problem. You could also book an appointment with a gynaecologist if your periods really become a concern..And the only way that travel can affect your periods is the stress associated with travelling then that can postpone mensturation and only very selected foods can encourage heavy flow..

If your period goes longer then eight days you need to see a doctor. It sound like your body cycle got thrown out of whack, but it should not take this long for it to get back into sync. The doctor will check your hormone levels and might, if needed, prescribe birth control. This is not about sex, the birth control pills can help regulate your cycle. As a side note: Never take your friends birth control if they have it because your doctor will prescribe what it right for your situation. Birth control pills can have side effects and your doctor will pick one that is safe and what is needed for your situation.

Actually, sometimes traveling over-seas can affect your period in weird ways. It has to do with the climate or something like that.

But anyways, if it doesn't stop here in a week or two, you should probably go see your doctor to make sure there isn't anything wrong. That doesn't sound very normal.

Your period is not based upon your diet in that way. I mean, if you eat too much salt it can make your cramps and bloating worse but it doesn't affect your bleeding levels. You need to see a doctor about this. It's not normal at all.
