Hi - I am sorry to tell you this, but you have been incredibly foolish by leaving this for so long; ten years without conception indicates a potentially serious problem. You could have given yourself SO much better a chance of a baby if you had gone to your Doctor within the first year of trying un-successfully to conceive.
Yes, your GP will try to help you, starting with hormone tests.
Good luck for the future.
Honey, as someone who went through pretty much the same thing, let me tell you that the only reason to see your GP is to get a referral to a specialist. You need a reproductive endocrinologist. These doctors specialize in diagnosing and treating infertility problems. I wouldn't even bother with a regular gynecologist in most cases. Ten years of trying to conceive indicates that you have some specific problem and a reproductive endocrinologist is the person who can find out what it is.
Unfortunately, there are so many different possibilities that they cannot even be listed here. Some women have scarring in their fallopian tubes, from an unnoticed infection that might have happened many years ago. Other women have a uterine problem; they technically can get pregnant, but the embryo can't implant in their uterus. Men can have low sperm counts, or sperm that aren't active enough. Fertility can also be lower in men with very low (or very high!) volumes of semen. And there are other, well, unique situations. My sister-in-law and her husband could not conceive because their genetic makeup was so similar that it was almost like her body was trying to be protective against incest, which is totally bizarre (she's white and he's African-American).
Anyway, the point here is that diagnosis and treatment needs to be put in the hands of specialists. It's well past the time of leaving this just to a GP. Good luck, honey. There IS hope at the end of this, as our two children (!!) could tell you. :-)
I don't know if you are trying to conceive with one partner, or different ones, respectfully, different times. It could be the man. As for yourself, I suspect circulation and cold womb or uterus.

I think your gp can give you some medicine for that, my older sister had the same problem but never went to the gp for that.
