Question: When is it appropriate to start using tampons!?
My step daughter has been diagnosed with dyspraxia!. This affects her speech and motor skills!. She also has glue ear!. My stepdaughter is 13 years old and has had her first period!. She is in a learning disabled school and is about the maturity level of a 7 year old!. She has problems with certain aspects of life, such as taking her shirt off over her head, buttoning her shirt, etc etc, When should she be allowed to use tampons!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
I think pads would be easier for them!. Tampons can be hard to keep up with and the fact that you can get TSS for wearing them for too long is also a problem, especially since they are disabled!. But despite that fact, I think using a pad when you first start your period is just easier!. It's scary when you first start it and having to put something foreign in there may also add to the stress or unfamiliarity with the situation!. Then maybe, after using pads for a few menstrual cycles, the girls can try them if they're comfortable with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
When she wants to!. She needs to be able to feel comfortable wearin them!. Pads should be easy for her since she is disabled!.
Plus, if she wears the tampons for too long she can get TSS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
