Question: Is hematuria sometimes referred to as "Plus One or +1" by a nurse or doctor!?
Blood in urine!.!.!. After performing a urinalysis and there is a positive result for blood in the urine!.!.!.do doctors or nurses sometimes refer to this as "+1"!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Doctors and nurses use test sticks to dip into the urine sample to see if there is anything there that shouldn't be!. Blood is one of these things!. The square on the test strip is yellow and if there is blood in the urine, it will turn green!. Depending on the brand of sticks used, there will be about 5 different shades of green to choose from - the darker the green, the more blood in the urine!. So the possible results would be from 'plus one' to 'plus five'
A 'plus one' result means that there is a little bit of blood in the urine, but not so much that it would be visible, or anything to worry about!. It all depends on the individual circumstances of the patient!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
