Children of Mothers going through Menopause?!
Question: Children of Mothers going through Menopause!?
Do you ind that your Mom's personality has changed!? She becomes irrational & defensive!. I am having a huge problem with my Mother who recently had a huge change in her life (sold everything and moved in with me my new Husband and my baby) and ever since she moved in she has been impossible to live with!. She is overly defensive, paranoid, unable to do things for herself-asking me to do things that had I not been here, she could do them for herself!.
It's causing a lot of problems between my husband & myself not to mention the stress that I am under trying to please her & still keep my sanity!. I have suggested therapy & have even gone so far to find a free clinic so she wouldn't have to pay for it!. She acknowledges she needs to go but wont make the step to make the appt!.
I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing this HUGE personality change until I had a light bulb moment!.!.!.maybe (And please believe I am not trying to be funny at all) she is having menopausal mood changes!. Has anyone gone through something like this!? I am desperate to understand why my Mom & I no longer get along!.
My only saving grace is that My Husband & I are moving into a house in a few months & my Mom will then take over the apt!.

My mum was like this at an age when I thought she wouldn't menopausal!. It turned out that she was starting early!. It is very hard for both you and your mum at this time - believe me! The best thing for you to do is continue being supportive to her!. My mum had to have hormone replacement therapy and she is a lot better now!. You are all going through a lot of changes so it could be pre menopause or just that there has been so much happening!. You are both going down the right route with some counselling and understanding of what may be the problem!. Stick in there! You will get through it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
