Please explain something to me(women only)?!

Question: Please explain something to me(women only)!?
I am a young woman and I am wondering why some women are upset about having to get a hysterectomy!. I mean if a woman has already had all the kids she wants, why would she be upset when she could get the chance to no longer have to worry about the dreaded period!. I would think that a woman would be happy to get rid of her period!. Do maybe some women think if they do not have all the appropriate body parts does it make them less of a woman!?
My mom had one after I was born because she had a cyst on her uterus, and she said that she is happy that she doesn't have to worry about having a period!. Is this a common feeling among those who have had one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Having a hysterectomy isn't just about not having your period any more!. Your body begins to act as if it were naturally going through menopause, no matter what your age when you have it!. Your skin changes, your internal organs change, you start to develop facial hair or it becomes more prominent, your breasts sag, and many more not so great things take place and it isn't all that wonderful!. Personally, I would prefer to not have to have one, if given a choice!. Your hormones also go screwy because it is not natural to have to go through a hysterectomy!. For health reasons, sometimes it is necessary but to just avoid having your period, it makes no sense at all and is not a reason to rejoice!. If you have to have one anyway, it is just one of the things that happens and if it makes you happy, then celebrate!. Mother nature is preferable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it sort of has to do with losing a part of your body!. Even though you aren't physically aware of that body part most of the time, it's still really scary to be parted with it!. My mom had one not to long ago and I learned a lot of stuff, like most woman have depression after wards because of this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

All female internal organs have their functions (reproductive, hormonal, etc!.) and all functions depend on each other!. If you remove one - others are not functioning properly and sometimes if you remove uterus - you should remove also ovaries, etc!., etc!. Some women are forced to have babies very late (unexpected) because of accidents with their children or new family or other reasons!. So all women need all reproductive organs notonly for having babies but also female hormones play a crucial role in sex drive, in brain activities, etc!. etc!. as far as i know, after you have an hysterectomy, you start menopause early & while ive had 3 kids & i am finished my family & would love to get rid of periods my reason for not having it done is i think id rather put up with periods than go through menopause at this young age!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.if im wrong about menopause after hysterectomy im sure someone will let u know :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No surgery is ever easy!. it is always a long process to heal!. Plus a lot of women who go through hysterectomy's have to be on hormone replacement therapy and it causes your natural system to get off balance!. Somtimes your hormone levels are too high or too low causing hot flashes, moodiness, weight gain, facial hair and many more uncomfortable symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it seems that you would be happy to loose your period, but having a hysterectomy can cause negitive problems, such as hair growth, and voice changes, so in a sense your right, it does make them less of a woman!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because it changes your hormone levels and takes away your femininity, it gives you man like side effects!. Facial hair is not something I want to live with!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not sure why they get upset,I can't wait to stop!. But even so you have to go through all those changes!. I here it is like having your cycle, but 10 times worse!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think they secretly want to have the option of having more kids, even though they'd never admit it!
