I cant feel my mirena strings!?!
Question: I cant feel my mirena strings!!?
I got mirena a little over a week ago, and i already cant feel my strings!? i did a little research and saw that the strings really arnt important it just helpful when they remove it!. i asked my boyfriend to see if he could feel it and he said he cant only when we have sex and it is really far up!? should i call my doctor or am i fine!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

but a matter like this shouldn't be taken lightly!. I have a Mirena myself!. I was told if I felt the string's length changed (shorter or longer), the IUD may not be in its proper position, increasing the chance of pregnancy!. My gyno told me if I noticed anything like that -to call & come in!. & that they'll check it out to make sure I'm safe!.
Better safe than sorry!. Especially if you're not ready for a baby!.
And its a quite run-in/run-out!. Maybe 1/2 hour out of your scheduel!.
And after you get it check, keep track of the string's length (when feeling it)!. I was told to check it at least once a month!. Don't pull on the strings though, no matter what!.
Also, make sure you're locating your cervix correctly!. Some ladies have a longer canal than others!. Try different sitting (or squatting) positions!. When talking to your doctor, ask how you can find your strings easier -that you're having difficulty!. I'm sure they'll help you out some!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

if u cant feel the strings its important as it might have come out!.Its probably just that u arent feeling in the right area!. Find ur cervix and it should come out of the centre of it!. If you cant feel it assume the mirnea is not there until you see your doctor and/or get an ultrasound to confirm its there or you might be unprotected for pregnancy !. they cna be expelled so its possibel they arent there and if so u arent covered for contraception!. if ur BF is sure he can feel them and u trust him go for it but Id be wanting to make sure on my ownWww@Answer-Health@Com
You are probably okay!. If you are concerned then just go to the doctor and have her check them!. The doctor should have trimmed the strings when you had it inserted-- and it also depends on how deep your cervix measured!. Your doctor should have measured you before insertion!. For instance, I measure right at 6 inches, but some women measure much deeper than that!. I have a short cervix!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
