Answers:
I have had an IUD (Paragard) for almost two years and I love it! It is much easier and more reliable than any other form of birth control!. For the first few months my periods were heavier and it took some time for my body to get accustomed to the IUD!. After the first 6 months or so, though, everything settled down!. I highly recommend getting one if you do not plan to have a child in the next 5-10 years!. The only drawback, which doesn't bother me much, is that it made my periods longer!. Supposedly the Mirena shortens your periods!. Mine went from 3 days to 5-7 days!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i liked the Iud, but i came off of the depo shot, which made me have no monthly accuracies, when i switched to the iud, my bleeding came back, and i didnt like it, i would rather get an injection every 3 months and have no spotting rather than an implant for 5 years, and blood every month!. but other than the blood, i liked the iud, just not as much as the depo- pevera shotWww@Answer-Health@Com

i had a really bad experience with both! the mirena was the worse for me! I had really bad cramps, that felt like labor pains! I was in and out of the hospital! Headaches, infections, xtra heavy periods! Hot flashes! moody swings! bad dreams! tired all the time!! Ever side effect it warns you about I had! and some! about a month later I had it taking out, and was using Para, and I still had most of the things mentioned, but not as bad, I had it for about 2 months, and I got really sick, I was in the hospital for just over a week!

My experiences with both of these was the worst! I wouldnt reamend it to anyone!

Its been years now, when I had mirena, it was new at the time! Since i've been away from all that, I'm ok, but my periods, and all the things that come with a period are 10x worse!

I really wish I could offer you a good experience, with birth control! but there wasnt a birth control that didnt hurt me in some way! A year after my son was born I had my tubes tied! and I'm still paying for all the problems birth control caused! another that I know is very bad is the DEPO SHOT!!! STAY AWAY FROM THAT ONE TOO!!

good luck and best wishes with everything! take care nowWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had an IUD insitu for many yrs!.I had irregular periods for a long time and it was annoying!.I can't have hormonal contraceptives so IUD was only choice!.My cramping seemed to more painful at times and my partner said he sometimes could feel the little string when we had intercourse!.I think he was bragging about the size of his member!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a Mirena inserted recently, a few weeks ago!. So far its working out okay!. I've never had children so insertion was extremely painful, and I am still in the "light bleeding" phase-- you bleed for a few weeks after insertion while your body adjusts to the change!.

There are a bunch of horror stories online about Mirena, but I chose not to listen to them!. I know the risks, but I have spoken to people I actually KNOW who have it and they were very pleased with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No I haven't!. But, if I were a woman, I'd talk to my doctor first!. Seems like the medical community would have the best advice and know more about history of such devices!.
