Birth controllll (loestrin24fe if it matters!)?!

Question: Birth controllll (loestrin24fe if it matters!)!?
I am in the middle of my second pill pack!. I had sex in the first month, although i have heard that sometimes it is safer to wait it out!. I did wait out the first week, which i also heard should be done!. my boyfriend always uses a condom, with the pill, so we double up!. At the end of my first pack of pills ( i had sex a few times that first month) I got an extremely heavy and painful period!. We had a condom break on the side but it was empty and if i was protected i am not concerned!. I started the pill the quick-start method!. My period started on a monday, and i took the first pill that friday when it was beginning to slow down!. Like i said earlier, i did not have sex in the first week!. Was i protected that month, and if i got such a bad period at the end, that would indicate that Im definitely not pregnant!.!. right!? I just wanna hear that it is safe to have sex in the first month (after the first week of pills)!. Is that true!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Since you waited at least 7 active pill days before having unprotected sex, you were definitely protected during that first month!.

With regard to the heavy first period, the exact same thing happened to me!. I started hormonal birth control using the quick start method about a week before my period was due!. I've attributed the heavy, crampy, awful first withdrawal bleed to starting so late in my cycle (sort of like I had double the time for my uterine lining to build up, which made my uterus freak out and try too hard to shed it)!.

Even while not starting with quick start, it's totally normal for your first withdrawal bleed on hormonal birth control to be a bit heavier than you should expect your later bleeds to be!. You're definitely not pregnant!. You've got nothing to worry about!. :) Best of luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
