Your mom doesnt even have to go to the appt with you if you dont want her too!.!.!.Which if you want to get on birth control without her knowing is something to think about!.!.!.My daughter and I have a great relationship where we talk about alot of things so when she came to me at 15 and told me that her and her boyfriend of almost 2yrs had recently became sexually active I was on the phone the next morning setting up her appt for birthcontrol!.!.!.I went with her to the appt and the doctor talked to us both for a few minutes then asked that I leave the room so she could talk to my daughter alone!.!.Like she said there are questions that she has to ask that most girls DONt want their moms to know the answers too!.!.!.!.My daughter requested that I be in the room with her but the doctor had told her before she asked me to come back in that I didnt have to be there if she didnt want me too!.!.!.

If you dont wanna ask for the birthcontrol while you are at the appt with your mother you could tell the doctor that while yall are alone in the room and you could ask if she would call the birthcontrol into the pharmacy for you or give it to you while you are alone!.!.!.If that doesnt work then after you get done there call your local health dept and make an appt!.!.You will have to go thru another pelvic exam there but they WILL give you the birthcontrol and wont tell your mother about it!.!.Most of the time they have the actual birthcontrol there to give you so you dont have to worry with the pharmacy either!.!.BTW this is usually a free service!.!.!.!.

Anyways Good luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes- you can tell your mother to leave the room!. You dont even have to let her come in with you in the first place- if you say to stay in the waiting room she has to!. Though if your gyno is a male I would definitly request a female nurse present in the room- seriously!.

I had my first at 16 and I let my mother stay in the room and it actually made the lady be a total hag, she acted like I was lieing the whole entire time because I let her stay in the room and I was like I have nothing to hide but she insisted I have all these std tests anyways even though I had told her I never had sex ever!. It made me pretty mad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. In fact, most ob/gyn's will kick your mom out of the room automatically unless you say otherwise!. Are you nervous!? It's not something I'd want to do on a daily basis, but it's not so bad, either!. Tell the doctor that this is your first gyn visit, and she (usually it's a woman) will explain what she's doing and why!.

As for birth control, it depends on what state you live in!. Different states have different laws about what reproductive health care can be given to an adolescent without parental consent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ask your mom for the privacy you deserve!. Pretty sure it's legal to not have a parent actually in the room !. as for any results that are found ,that is another subject, like if the Doc found that you have herpes or you were pregnant , they may be obligated to say something to your parent at your age, but its just a guess
No doubt its been years since you Mom has seen your birthday suit , and as you are becoming a young adult it is probably really awkward for her to have to see you nude too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the gyn is an intelligent male, he will insist on a female in the room!. You can understand why!. That will trump your wish (demand) that doesn't comply with the spirit of that!. Handling the barring of the mother is the patient's right if she can do it (but she'll never get off your back!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell the nurse you wish to have the exam without your mother present!. They will ask her to leave!.!.!.actually she should just remain in the waiting room!. You can request birth control without parental consent!.!.!.but if you plan on parents or their insurance to pay for it!.!.!.they will likely find out!. Your results will be given to you only!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not sure, but no your mom SHOULD NOT be in the room with you! It is not her body! But I am not sure about the results!. Why did you schedule one with her in the first place, and why are you going at only 16!? I was 17 and I did it behind my mom's back at my high school!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, your mom doesn't have to be there!. my doc asked me if I wanted my mom to be in the room!. I said yes because I was scared the first time!. the second time I took a friend and even then I wanted her in the room (she didn't think I wanted her in there, but friends are good for support in times like those)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a mother of a 17 year old boy and i know that this is totally different but they didn't want me in the room with him during his exam!. Even if they said it is ok i wouldn't have stayed!. My son had some male problems, in which he had to be examined!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course you can!.!.!.in fact, when I went to the gynecologist, they asked my mother to step out for me so that I could answer their questions without her present!.!.!.they feel they could get the "truth" out of you if your parent isn't present!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can ask for that!. Eww that would be weird! I'd call them before the appt and tell them, then they can just ask her to wait outside, and it won't be like you asked them to do it!. They'll have a nurse in there anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course you can if you don't feel comfortable with her being there!. your doctor's job is to comply with what you, the patient, wants!. altho your mother might want to be there to make sure the gyno is doing it right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can ask that your mom NOT be in the room!. And there is nothing that she can do about it! Not sure why she would want to be anyway!. Your body, not hers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can go in alone!. You can 100% be allowed who to choose that you want in the room or not!. If you don't want your mom in there then you can tell them!Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes!. i'm not sure what state you live in, but i live in michigan and when i turned 13, my medical records became private!. i had to sign a paper saying i knew!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes because you are of age at 16 for sex and can get your self on birth control!. and they are not aloud to tell you test results if you do not want to be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The list of responses show a very disturbing trend of unhealthy mother-daughter relationships!. It is very sad that so many girls have such hostile attitudes towards their mothers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you can!. I'm sure your parent would respect your request as well!. It's kind of a personal thing, I'm pretty sure they'll understand if you don't want them in the same room!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. Mostly likely they would ask your mom to leave the room anyway to give you your privacy!. My mom would never even think of going in with me luckily!Www@Answer-Health@Com
