My period is really heavy, too!. I have to wear overnight during the day!. What I suggest is this: Go to your nearest bedding store!. They'll have waterproof sheets!. This means that if you flip it inside out, it'll be plastic and won't stain all the way through! That makes it easier to clean!. There are also some thicker towels on the market that you can use to put on your sheet when you have your period!. Usually I need to pile two or three on top of each other when I'm on my heaviest days!. Also, it might be a good idea to get nylon underwear, which is much easier to clean of blood stains!. I wish they would have thicker pads for us heavier girls, but I think the next best option is diapers, and I don't think anyone wants that :) If you are really concerned about your period, you only have to wait another year!. Gynecologists will prescribe birth control if you have had your period for three years!. Some birth control pills can control your flow and cramps (you sound like you might have them)!. Also, girls who have very heavy periods are very likely to develop anemia, which means that you have a low iron count in your blood cells and can cause trouble clotting if you have any open cuts, etc!. Some birth control pills have iron in them, and you should ask your doctor!. You can also try a depo shot, which will make it so that you have four periods a year!. I don't know if they'll allow you to take it or not!. If you have major pain, try Pamprin pills, which are made especially for menstrual cramps, and Thermacare menstrual pads, which are little heat pads you stick on that generate heat by themselves and last for 8 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I found the overnight pads with wings that are extra-long and super absorbancy to help some, and wearing a tampon and pad together to help!. Bleeding like that is just normal for some people, but for others it can be a sign of endometriosis or another problem!. Have you been to a gynocologist!? If your doctor was just your primary care that said you shouldn't go on the pill, you might have better luck with a gynocologist!. And if it was a gyno, try another one!. If your periods are so heavy that you're having problems, it's not unheard of to go on birth control to help regulate it, even after only a couple years having your period!. Talk to your mom about taking you to a different doctor and explain the problems you've been having!. There are things that can be done to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had periods this heavy!.

Sometimes I wear a pad and a tampon together and then set my alarm for the middle of the night so that I can change the tampon!. Occasionally, I'll double up on the pads to create a diaper-like effect!. You can put the pads next to each other or front and back, wherever the period leaks the most!.

Another strategy is to put a couple towels under you when you sleep!. Use towels that you don't mind staining!.

You can always use diapers if you like!. That would probably work, too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if your wearing a pad which i hope you are, take some toilet paper and put at the end of the tampon basically at your *** fold it up just like a towel!. that way if you leak the toilet paper will catch it!. and also some on your pad when you know your period is very heavy!.!. ONLY when you go to sleep tho!. i have a heavy period too the first 2 days

I HOPE THIS HELPS! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Something isn't right!.!.!. it's not normal to have such heavy periods at your age!.!.!. Go to an gynecologist!.!. not your pediatrician!.!.!.!. Have mom make you an appointment and if she won't because she thinks you're to young to see one!.!.!. You need to take care of that!.!.!. Call Planned Parenthood and they will educate you on what to do!.!.!. It's a great place to learn about your body from professionals!.!.!. and they won't tell anyone that you were there or called!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
