Why do i feel pain in my lower back when i have my period?!

Question: Why do i feel pain in my lower back when i have my period!?
Answers:
When you are on your period, the lining of your uterus breaks down and drips through your vagina to where you see it!. The process of breaking down the lining, however, uses your muscles in your stomach and back!. These pains are called cramps and most woman and girls are effected by them!. However, some woman never get them, some get just the cramps, some get just the back pain, or some even get all the pain together!.

I personally get the horrible back pain!. I know exactly what you're talking about with the pain there!. ^_^ If you want to relieve it, I reccommend taking Midol Teen Formula or the Regular Strength starting about 2 days before you intend to get your period!. This way, you will be prepared for the pain to follow!. Continue taking pain relievers during the course of your period, but make sure you read the labels and drink plenty of water!. If the pills aren't working 100% for you, try using a heating pad or warm bath to ease away the pain!. However, my favorite cure is to take 2 Midol, curl up under a blanket, and attempt to fall asleep!.

I hope your back feels better! If your period lasts about a week, then your back pain should last about 3 days (Usually starting up a day before your period- you'll get used to it with more time)!. Until it stops, just try to relax and take pain relievers!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could mean a few things!.!.!.
For one, our nerve endings often signal pain in areas where the actual pain isn't occurring--called referred pain--so the pain your are interpreting in your back could actually be coming from someplace else (ie, your uterus)!.!.!.

Also, your uterus could be tipped backwards--which is not medically threatening, yet nonetheless not the norm--but it might explain why your back is experiencing heightened sensitivity during menstruation/cramping!.

And finally--you could have ENDOMETRIOSIS--which is a medical condition where the uterine lining grows outside the uterine wall!. Thus, during menstruation--cramps are much more painful and wide-spread for women with this condition (including serious back pain)!. Only a doctor can diagnose this disease and determine its severity--but if your periods are also usually heavy and quite painful--its something to get checked out (but not freak over)!.

Best wishes and good health!.

they're cramps
it's normal to get them during and sometimes even before your period
you can take midol for the pain
it's made specifically to help with cramps, bloating, and mood swings, unlike alieve and tylenol which are just general pain relievers

and why do some people (*cough* first answerer *cough*) feel the need to type in all caps!? it's so annoying and so much harder to read and just makes it sound like you're yelling at people!.
and also- it's "two" not "to"
learn the difference

*** your kidneys have nothing to do with your period
it's your ovaries and the cramps are probably from the egg being released and moving through your uterus and the blood on the uteran walls being shedWww@Answer-Health@Com
