I think it would be weird/awkward to tell my mom!.

Your mum's a woman, and has periods too!. She's had them much much longer than you have, she's a vital source of support and information for you- dont be embarrassed just say "i got my period today!" or just add pads or tampons onto the shopping list, she'll get the message!.
If not then take it as your own responsibility and deal with your periods without telling her, she's likely to realise at some point whether you tell her or not!.

Tell your mom! It's not like she is going to laugh at you, she's been through the same thing as you!. Besides, your going to need supplies, and she can help you pick out what you want!.

No no no it wont be! Shes been there too and im sure she can offer you heaps of support and answer alot of your questions! You should tell her,you shouldnt be alone for your celebrating!.!.!.enjoy becoming a woman! And how to tell her!? There is nothing to be embarrassed about!.!. your mom was a girl once she will want to know!.!. She got her period when she was your age and she hopefully had a mom she could tell that!.!. It is the bodies natural process and nothing to feel embarrassed about!.!. your mom loves you and please do tell her!.!.!.!. there are a lot of things she can tell you!.!.!. It's never awkward between a mom and a daughter to share those womens talks!.!. she has the same every month now and she can tell you what you need!.!. such as sanitary towels you have to have so you won't get blood on your underwear!.!. that this will happen to you from now on every 30 days after the end of one period!.!.!. a period can last from 3 to 7 days!.!. normal is heavy or light!.!. those with light periods usually have them for longer!.!. I always had mine for about 5 days less heavy!.!.!. there are hormonal changes going on in your body right now!.!.!. your body is saying that from now on !.!. you just have to watch out!.!. if you sleep with a boy you can get pregnant !.!.!. you are so to speak physically a woman!.!.!. but please believe me!.!. I am 45 years old and I guess a lot older than your mom and I told my mom!.!. I was 13 when I got mine and it's totally normal!.!. I still get mine every month!.!. all women get it until we go into menopause!.!. that means we then no longer can get pregnant!.!.!. and menopause in women can happen anytime from age 42 to 65!.!. so you have a long time ahead with periods!.!.!.!. don't feel awkward sweetheart,, talk to your mom!. I know she will understand and would find it strange if you didn't tell her because if you don't tell her and are 16!.!. she will send you to a doctor as she might think you are having a problem for not getting it!.!.!. normal age for getting a first period is anytime from age 11 to 16!.!.!.!.and it can be very irregular in the beginning!.!.!. Yeah it can be embarrassing, but your mom went through the same thing!. It is a new thing now but eventually it will be no big deal for you!. well, i jsut walked up to my mom and i said "guess what!" she said, "what jackie, im busy", and i was like, "it srats with a p and ends in an eriod!" haha!. she got it, laughed!. then we talked!. Just remember, she has it too!. its no big deal!. and cramps is a great excuse to get out of a family/social/school event!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

haha so she comes upstairs and my friend simply tells her mom, um, i think i have my period!.!.!.!.
omg u should have seen mrs!. r's face!. it went white, then red, then she went, awwwww im so happy for you!!!! and gives the two of us a bear hug!. and me and my bff were both like, omg!.!.!.!.!.!.
so maddie's in the bathroom getting, uh, situated, and the whole time mrs!. r and i are standing outside the bathroom door!. she kept staring at me with her head tilted to the side with a really weird smile!. i was like, what!.!.!.!. and she just goes, awww!.!.!.!.!. over and over again!.!.!.!. i was like omg mrs!. r ur really starting to freak me out!.!.!. so shes like, okay, ill go wait downstairs!. i was like, THANK YOU!!!
