When I was pregnant with my first child I got a yeast infection that would not go away, even after a 7 day over the counter treatment!. I ended up having to be prescribed an extremely strong cream!. I actually didn't know it was a yeast infection because the symptoms were so different!. (lips really swollen and very sore, felt like someone had kicked me with a steel toe boot!. No discharge or itching) So you just may need something stronger unfortunately :(

Yeast infections are very common during pregnancy!. My doctor also said the 3 & 5 days ones are not as effective, they may be stronger but a longer steady cycle of the over the counter ones are more effective!.!.!. which I have proven to be true in the past!.

Although a home remedy I have used before is plain yogurt directly to the inside!.!.!. feels a little messy but just use before bed or with a pad!. It does help with the discomfort!.

I hope it goes away soon!. Infections are NO fun!Www@Answer-Health@Com

While pregnant you don't want to self-treat!. Especially if this your first one and you don't know which medication is safest for you to use!. When I was pregnant I got what I thought was a yeast infection, but it turned out to be a bacteria infection that needed antibiotics!. So the yeast infection medication would not have helped it anyway!. If left untreated bacteria infections can cause other problems during your pregnancy!. Sorry don't want to scare you but just trying to error on the side of caution!. Just stick it out until the doc can confirm what you have!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not sure if there are over the counter meds for yeast infections!. I heard that shooting plain yogurt with a certain bacteria (I cant recall the name of the bacteria) in it through a syringe "down there" could heal a yeast infection!. You could do more research by looking this up online!. However, If I were in your position, I would ask to see another doctor!Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are the monistat one ovule overnight use that work wonders!. But you might want to check with your doctor and make sure you don't do anything that could hurt your baby!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
