Question: Side effects from taking contraceptive pill!?
I am mainly concerned with weight gain, does one gain weight with the current contraceptive pills on the market!? I have been prescribed Microgynon (sorry if I've spelt it wrong)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes weight gain can be a side effect!. I gained weight!. But everyone is different!. If you do gain weight and you dont like it you can change brands!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
from experience i will never go on the pill again!. everyone i know has gained wieght, from 10-15 pounds!. ppl say its not true IT IS!. TRUST ME!. IT IS!. try it out for your self!. see if u like it!. if not then u can try other types, or try nonhormonal contraceps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The pill made me really depressed and i gained weight via the depression!.

Each person is different!. I never gained weight with any pill but Yaz!. Some people lose weight, some gain it!. Some get acne, some have theirs cleared up!. Some get moody, some stop being moody!. It just depends on how your hormones interact with the hormones in the pill!. Each pill is different just like each person is different!. It's a trial and error thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
some people gain alittle weight not alot though!. or they just have alittle harder time loosing it!. if you notice weight gain, just talk to your doctor and she can help you find one that will work better for you!. some other side effects might be more emotional or moody your chest might get alittle bigger!.

i took one pill that didnt effect me at all and i was on anohter one that for the first 3 months the week before i got my period i was more emotionally drained then usuall but it went away!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My fiancee took Microgynon for a couple years, it never agreed with her!. She never put on weight, but her sex drive went to the dogs!. So much so, that it affected our relationship pretty badly!. She's now off the pill and things are now better than ever before! Best thing she ever did to come off them!. Obviously I dont mind using a condom! I would see how it affects you in this department!. It made my fiancee's period pain less intense, but she's prepared to put up with that in order to have her sex life back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Microgynon was my first pill and I barely put any weight on!. My boobs grew a size and I maybe put on 7lbs top side- i was still a size 8 anyway!that's the only thing really, i'm not aware of many other side affects!. Read the pamphlet just to make yourself aware and if any side affects do occur, talk with your doctor and they'll prescribe you with another pill!. microgynon is the first choice most doctors go for and is the most popular, but obviously some girls don't agree with it, but only time will tell!. I was on it for years and it didn't do me any harm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
