The Pill.......?!

Question: I have been thinking about going on the pill but my friend said it made her gain alot of weight. Is there a special kind you can take that helps with stuff like that and won't cause any problems? Is one kind better than another kind and how do you choose which is right for you?

it also helps get rid of acne

Everyone reacts differently to the pill. Talk to your doctor. You may have to switch brands a few times until you find the one that works best for you. But don't wait. It's worth the effort to prevent an unplanned pregnancy.

well if you dont find one that doesnt make you gain weight and take that one anyway dont take breaks from it cuz of that because thats how alot of people get pregnant.

i've been on the pill for about 6 months. i didn't really gain weight, but i feel like i did. something about constantly being on hormones makes you feel fat/bloated...literally every second of the day. it's kind of like you've got this second layer on you, that exercising or eating less never really seems to cure. i also developed a liking for chocolate and cheesy foods..never liked chocolate before.

i really suggest not taking birth control. it's artificial hormones that are being inside you constantly, and i'm trying to get off as soon as possible. all hormonal birth control cause problems, and there are a few natural ways that don't harm your body and just let you do things on your own, with your own hormones. trust me, it really just messes with the balance of things, whether you notice it or not (and you most likely will). there is something called natural family planning, where you chart when you're ovulating by basal body temperature/mucous. it's about 99% effective if kept up with and done correctly, and you only have to avoid sex for about 6 days a month when you're ovulating. look it up on google or get a book on it, to make sure you're doing it right. good luck.

the pill doesn't make you gain weight... eating too much does. Sometimes the pill can increase your appetite so just be careful and you'll be fine.
