Question 4 girls only plz!!!!?!
Question: Ok well I'm 13 and I have a problem. I got my period when I was 10 and it has been ok. But as u all know summer is coming and I have a HUGE problem. My freind acrost the street has a pool and hosts pool parties everyday when it gets in the 80's. I LOVE to swim and look fairly good in a bikini. So b4 yes I have missed pool parties but only a couple I go tho and stick my feet in and eat and talk but I never swim cause I can't because I wear cotex. Now a couple of my freinds use tampons and u can swim with those on. I don't want to miss anymore pool parties and have to lie saying I just don't want to swim. Even tho the girl who owns the pool knows it still bothers me that I have to lie. A couple days ago I got the courage to ask my mom if I could start using tampons and explained the situation to her as I just did to u. She told me this. "Listen Ik u love to swim but tampons aren' healthy 4 girls ur age. Then she said she would look it up and c. So can u help???? Can I use tampons yet?

Well if you really wanna swim then you'll have to wear a tampon.and if you're scared than just ask your mom what to do. She'll be there for you. She's gone through it too! and you can use tampons especially since you've had your period for awhile.

Tamons are always apropriate,and i think your mo is being a twit.but start by looking up and printing a lot of info on tampons.then make this big presentation on how good tampons are and why you need them.
idk why your mom said that because it should be perfectly fine for you to use one....i mean youre already 13 and i dont know why you wouldnt be able for you to use one....i was always told in my health classes that you can use either one and it just depends on which one your more comfortable with using
yes any girl who has had their period can wear tampons. some women believe that virgins shouldnt wear tampons because it will make them loose their virginity. but that is not true with tampons you can pop your cherry...but you can really only "loose" your virginity if you have sex! so just tell her that tons of girls your age use them. they are so much better then pads(which by the way make you feel like you are wearing a diaper)

The issue with tampons is toxic shock syndrome! Has nothing to do with age or how long on menses. Make sure you change the tampon when the package says, use the absorbency rating for your flow rate and watch for signs of TSS as on the package insert. The first time will be uncomfortable, so start with the slender and light flow one and try it before swim season so you won't be disappointed about the coverage if it's not absorbent enough. The more active you are while "aunt flow" is around will decrease your cramps.

i started with tampons on my 2nd period and i was 11..im healthy, and alive, and nothing bad ever happened beacuse of it.
you should be able to b/c you have had your period for 3 years now and as long as u change them regularly then you shouldnt have a problem b/c TSS is extreamly rare
Yeah you can im 13 too, but i started at 11... I used tampons my 5 or 6th month so its good, i still use the slim ones, they are alot tinier then regular so its not as bad or hard on you. Just tell your mom your frends use them and they are fine.

Your mom probably uses tampons right? Well just tell her something like this "Look, I really want to swim with my friends! So much! If my friends ask me why Im not swimming I will have to tell them that I got my period and that theres boys there!!!"
