Girls, Period pad help!?!

Question: Okay so i started my period for the first time ever on Thursday which was 2 days ago. Its all new to me, im only 13 too. So for the last few days during it i've used "Always Ultra Normal" which is the green packet. i hate them! their so uncomfy so it feels like i've got cardboard down my knickers & it feels all wet so its a terrible absorber and the worst bit is because it doesnt absorb it just feels all sticky and sticks to me. im looking for something super comfy, and super absorbent. also i really need something discreet because i have to wear shorts for my p.e classes. I dont wear tampons as well by the way. The pads im using at the moment are so bad that i keep crossing my legs when i lie or sit down cause i feel like its going everywhere so i want something secure, super absorbant, super comfy & discreet! So please help! These pads are making my period hell! :(
thanks!

Ask your mum to get you a selection of different brands to try. It's a very personal choice. What we like, you may hate, so you have to try them for yourself.

As for feeling comfortable and relaxed in PE, or any other time for that matter, try a pair of snug sports briefs over the top of your regular undies. This will help you to feel like the pad is being held frimly in place, and will help with that sticky feeling.

You can also go online to the manufacturers of the various brands and check their websites to see if they have samples to give away. Most of them in Australia do this, and it's great for when you have just begun your period.

try using a tampon

try a different type of always. i've tried a few of theirs and they feel pretty good. or if you want, try to get little packages so if you don't like them, you don't have a whole bunch. hope i helped! Don't use tampons for a year. You could get an infection. Hope i helped!

Try stayfree, they've been around for years and I know thats what my teenage girls like using, Hang tough!!

Well, kotex had fairly good ones,i've never had problems with them before.

And,please TRY tampons.:)

just switch over to tampons, u wont even feel them after a while

Maybe you should try tampons beause it seems like thats what your looking for?

However, maybe you could try different pads. It might take a while to work out whats best for you, your just going to have to findout for yourself what feels comfortable.

Your pad is too big. Ask your Mum to get you Stayfree Teens. They have an adhesive to stick and are thin and comfy. You don't need big pads at this stage. Good luck!

awww its a draggg lol try the always in the orange pack or get some store brand cotton ones!! they always work
or of course you could look up on the internet or read the box and use tampons!!
good luck

Ask Your Mum To Buy You A Range Of Diffrent Pads Or Tampons And Use A Diffrent One Everytime You Change Then You Will Find Out Which One Is Best For You ,,,, Hope I Helped :D

It could just be because you need to get used to the feeling of wearing a pad & having a period -when it's all new it just feels weird.

Anything which says "Ultra THin" or Ultra Slim" on the packet usually means they're really thing & can't be noticed unless you're wearing really tight bike shorts or something. They also come in different absorbencies, like light, regular, heavy, overnight. You'll probably find that the sizes meant for heavier flow are longer, so feel less discreet. Also usually the better brands are the more expensive ones.

I use either Bodyform or Kotex. Kotex are quite soft and are much more comfortable. Make sure you get the ones with wings and they feel much more secure.

Dont worry if you dont want to use tampons. I been having periods for 14 years and I have never used one.

Since this is your first period, it will take time before you find the right absorbency for your flow. Once you have established the one for you, then make sure that you buy the sanitary pads that have "wings". These are guaranteed to stay in place no matter what activity you do. And here is a word of encouragement. Thank God you weren't around in the times when sanitary pads didn't exist. If you feel uncomfortable now, just imagine the poor women who had to literally walk around with a towel between their legs and as if that wasn't enough, they had to be washed and dried as there was no such thing as a disposable towel. Then the sanitary towels came along that just had loops on each end which you had to hook onto a special suspender. The suspender was uncomfortable and the towels were large and very conspicous. So sweetie, the next time you have your period just be grateful for being born in this day and age.

i love the brand U. fantastic. perfect! look for no wings whichever flow you are. never wear pads you dont like. its not something a girl should have to go through.

Welcome to the monthly 'agh'! There are a zillion different pads on the market, the ones you're using might not be absorbant enough so go for plus ones. You can get em with wings so they are more stuck to your knickers. Some of the websites will send you samples so have a look, saves you spending loads of money on pads you don't want to use.

When I first started my period, I found it really weird, you feel like you are leaking blood all over the place when you really aren't, iys just cos you are feeling bit sensitive and aware of it all. Try out different pads til you find the one you like the best. I use tampons now and I was really worried and nervous before hand, I would never go back to pads.

haha, pads. ignore what everyone says about waiting until you're older to use tampons. that's what all pads do...

Try other kinds and see which you like best. I would say kotex is the leading brand with no complants.

Also, you really SHOULD try tampons. Very good for when playing outside or swimming for WHATEVER you may be doing. Trust me, there not bad. Just IF you get them, make sure they are Jr, or slim, or ya-know just smaller.
At my school, in pool class, lots of girls miss out on pool everyday just becasue they dont wana use a tampon, Im not FORCING you to use one, just suggesting it.

when i used pads, sometimes if felt like i was leeking bu i wasn't but i found that the best pad i ever used would be u, they are really absorbent and pretty comfy to.

I've found that Always do tend to feel sticky and uncomfortable. Try Stayfree or some other brand that has a "cloth" type cover on them. They're softer and more comfortable.

You may just have to shop around and try out a few brands before you come across one you like.
