What to say when I call my dr?!

Question: I want to know what to say when I call my dr's office, it's always a recording and they don't call back unless they think your dieing or something. I need to get in to talk to them about my ppd so what should I say that will actually make them call me back and not make me wait 5 weeks for and app.

I like juypters answer. You could twist that to say "This is so and so. I have a couple of questions about my ppd that I feel urgently need to be resolved. Please call me back by so and so time, or I will be leaving my baby with you until my ppd can be adequately dealt with." That would get their attention. Or, prompt them to call child protective services. Either one should get your needs addressed.

Tell them to call you back with the earliest appointment available or you will find a better doctors office.

Hi, this is Patti. I have a question about my ppd. Please return my call no later than 5PM Monday or I will be finding a new physician.

ask them to call you back about your test results
give name and number

Say...HHHEEELLLOOO DOCTOR!

You should leave your full name (spell the last name), your date of birth, which doctor you see, and at least one phone number where they can reach you. If you want them to schedule you something, give them what days and times you are available. If any of your info is unclear (especially the phone #!) they will be unable to reach you. Speak clearly!
