Sex does not HAVE to be painful, not even the first time, but unfortunately it is for a lot of girls. Tearing the hymen is really the least of it---that's just a little membrane at the entrance. The entire vagina is narrower in a virgin, and stretching that open can hurt, particularly if it's done forcefully or too fast. The younger the girl is, the more likely that is to be the case.
And then there's the male half of the equation. Most of these young girls, who are definitely having sex earlier than they should, are losing their virginity to boys in their age group, whose only idea of what to do during sex comes from porn movies---which are all geared toward male fantasies, not real life. They've seen so darned many porn movies that they think that's how real sex with real girls is supposed to be---even during a girl's first time. So everything they do to their girlfriends, even foreplay, tends to hurt like hell.
I have no idea why the girls put up with it, unless they think there's something wrong with them for not liking that nonsense. I only know that I see six or seven questions here every day from girls who want to know why it hurts when their boyfriends finger them, and why they bleed afterward. It's because their boyfriends are imitating porn movies.
Don't bother trying to break your own hymen. It's not going to make that much of a difference, and pain is pain no matter who inflicts it.

"Cherry pop" is what they call it when your hymen (a layer of skin ur born with) is broken by either an object in the vagina or from other causes (it can be broken naturally from everyday things too without u knowing). Even if you have it "popped" before your first time, it will hurt, as you get stretched out down there. And it doesnt hurt after a few times. And having sex before marraige or having kids is a personal choice you make when you're much older :)

The meaning of popping your cherry is breaking the thin layer of skin called the hymin... most girls hymin has already broken through sport, tampons etc without them knowing but for some it hasnt broken and when you have sex for the first time it breaks it which can be a tiny bit sore and may have a small amount of blood, this is not that common so I wouldnt worrie about it. Also after the first time having sex it will not hurt anymore if your partner is gentil and you are healthy. When you first have sex just make sure you take it slowly and your boyfriend is gentil also dont tense up or your mussles will tighten and it will hurt. Make sure you use a condom and just enjoy the moment :) It is nothing to be scared of!!
Ok. "pop your cherry means to break the hymen". I'm a not virgin(as of 3 weeks ago) and it did hurt the first time but my fiancee went slow and was very gentle. He still is. Now it's very pleasurable. Most people have sex because they are in love and want to show the most extreme form of love but it's more then that..It's bonding and making the emotional connection with your partner. It's not all about the physical aspect but it does play a huge part. So, don't worry hun...after the first time...you will find it pleasurable as well. Just be sure he uses a condom ok!
