for girls it is a guessing game... but don't get discouraged! the right side could be your appendix, or it could be a cyst on your right ovary. if you have a cyst growing, it could cause quite a bit of pain when ovulation comes around... and not just ovulation, but the changing of the hormones all together.
when i would have cysts, i would use motrin and or naproxen for the pain and swelling...

advice from someone who suffered long and hard with ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and the like... go see your gyno... and if you don't have one... get some recommendations from friends. ... sometimes it is as simple as your hormones need some assistance... like birth control pills to help rid your body of the cysts and help ease the pain as well as make your periods shorter and lighter.
or maybe it is your appendix. and in that case, you really need to see a dr. because you don't want that to rupture.

good luck!

Appendix or it just could be that ovary on that side releasing the egg

go to a gyno - it may also be a hernia

Is it on the inside of your thigh? If it is it might just be a groin strain. Best advice is to get the doc to check it. If it is just muscular he/she could refer you for some physio to sort it.

aaaahhhh, your apendix has burst, you need to see a hospital right away

This is a symptom of a cyst or of endometriosis. You should definitely mention this to your doctor when you get the opportunity.

EDIT: Since you say you've gotten this pain continuously on a regular schedule and are not dead, I highly doubt that your appendix has burst....

that has happend to me and it was a cyst. It is fairly common but I would go get it checked out.

It sounds like an ovarian cyst. My doctor has diagnosed me with these and I have the same symptoms that you do. I'll just be walking along and then BAM a really sharp, stabbing pain goes through my left or right side (my pain is predominantly on the left side, but it can be on any side). Talk to your doctor about the possibility of an ovarian cyst. Good luck!
