Lady doctor?! (girls only)?!

Question: I was talking to my mom about the "lady doctor". I can't remeber what it is actually called but I am dreding that once a year visit when I get older. Is it scary? Does it hurt? Obvisously it is uncomfortable. Do you feel like the doctor is over stepping their boundries? What do they do to you?

The gynecologist, also called the gyno. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable, you can have a man or a woman.
Some questions about your medical history you and your mother will answer together (or, if you've asked to go the whole visit alone, which you'll answer yourself).
A basic physical exam, just like at a "regular" doctors, including an examination of your eyes and ears, heart and lungs, blood pressure, and weight.
A basic abdominal exam, where (s)he massages your stomach and hip area, and will ask if any spots are tender or painful.
(S)he may also take some blood samples from your arm to check your hormone levels (which in the case of abnormal periods, may be out of whack). You may also get a standard blood and urine screen for STIs, particularly if you have been sexually active. If you have been sexually active, you should be sure to ask for those tests expressly: some doctors only do them when patients ask for them.
Before or after this point, you'll be given a gown to get into if you're going to get a bimanual and/or speculum exam. Most likely, before the pelvic exam, the doctor will do a breast exam, during which (s)he will feel your breasts and chest area in massaging movements to check for any lumps or irregularities

a "lady doctor" is called a gynologist, and no, its not scary at all. yes they will inspect your "lady parts" and give you some shots. not really different than a pediatrician, if thats where you go currently...

the gynecologist.

its a little uncomfortable, and you will be a bit nervous, but your doctor will tell you step by step what they are doing when you go the first time. a nurse will also be in the room.

its no scary

its a gynecologist or gyno for short
its not scary but its a little awkward and its more uncomfortable than painful.... not really its the job they do.......
they stick this think in you swipe a bit look at you to see if there's anything wrong and then they also do a check for lumps in the breasts

its actually not that bad.... nothing to dread...... just something to be glad only happens once a year
