Am I ever going to get my period?!

Question: When I was seven I had luekemia and I'm officially cured. I responded really well to the treatments, and Im 13 going on 14 in June. But I havent gotten my period yet. I have hair down there, but I dont really have nipples either. Just a small lump where my nipple should be. I'm scared that my luekemia did something so I can never have children or have boobs. Help! Am i ever going to get them!

I did some research off of google for you. First of all, your leukemia doesn't have anything to do with this. Girls can get their periods anywhere from when they're 8 to when they're 18. If it's later than that, go see a doctor, but my aunt (adopted) didn't get hers for the first time until she was about 20. The doctor said it was fine.

To be honest it's very unlikely you wont get it. loads of people get it later. My friend was 17 before she got hers and trust me its not something you really want and the boob thing. Well i wouldn't worry some people are just slow developers. it should all be fine you've only been a teenager for a year. and if you really are worried pop into your doctors. But you should be fine your still young. so don't worry.

I don't think that this is true, but I would check with your doctors rather than ask on here.

Many girls do not go through puberty until later on.

honey don't worry it will com when your body is ready.
My sister had leukemia when she was younger so that's not the problem.
ask when when your mother had her first period.
Sometime your get it at the same age that your mother got hers.
If you have a sister than you could ask her.
I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.
But if your still worry than Talk to your Dr about it.

You'll get a discharge in your pants that is foggy .Please E-mail me at Destineycyruslettle@ yahoo.com we could be freinds P.s. I didnt get mine either. Please E-mail me.

dont worry. You dont want your period trust me.

Don't worry i don't think your leukemia would effect it, I'M 15 and know girls who still haven't had theres and doctors say it will come so just keep waiting and when it comes youll start to regret hoping for it!!!

ull get ur period one day but dnt wrry bout it its normal. well ur boobs would grow to mine grew at 13 but its normal for ppl to grow at different ages, so i would tell u not to wrry. but u might have children or not ull jus have to try to find out from a dr, or someone with experience. ull get them one day

Once your boobs start growing, then you'll know your period is on the way. But it's ok to not start early. If it doesn't happen by the time you're 16 that's when you should start to worry. Everyone starts differently. But if you're worried about it, go to the doctor so they can tell you what's up.

I believe that the magic number is 110 pounds... Once you reach that figure your body will be able to support having a period.

dont worry! i had the same symptoms when i was ur age... but i never had lukemia... i am going to be exactly14 1/2 on march 22 this year and i started for the 1st time last month (february 10)

someone said u should start to worry when u r 16... theyre wrong because the average age IS 8-13, but healthy is up to 17-18... after about 18, u should consult a doctor, but dont worry, u will MOST LIKELY get it by then!

hun, you will get it, ur body just isnt ready! now that ur cured, it should have no effect on you becoming a woman. as long as you are developing, which you are, you will be perfectly normal! you are just a later bloomer than others, but that doesnt mean you are any less of a women!

about the development thing...
do you have discharge? girls usually get discharge between a year or 2 years before they get their first period.
also, your boobs will grow, they are already in the first stage, which means that you are developing.
do you have underarm hair? that is another sign of puberty.

for more information go to http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/ which is a phenomenal site when it comes to puberty and development! it teaches everything from the stages of puberty to how to use a tampon!

hope i helped!!
good luck!
xoxo

babigurl, u will get it. and its not something you want to be hoping for.
