Condom Broke and I took Plan B?!

Question: My boyfriend and I just had sex and the condom was torn in half at the tip, I rushed to get my Plan b from the pharmacy and took the first tablet within 30 minutes after it happened. After we noticed the condom was broken, I went to use the restroom and a lot of semen came out of me, i used water to try and ease my worries, meaning i splashed some on the outside of my vagina. I am really scared, and i feel like I'm going to lose A lot of sleep till i get my next period, if i even get it at all. PLEASE help me!!!

For plan B to be effective it should be taken within 72 hours of sex, which it sounds like you did. If you take the tablets properly it reduces the chance of pregnancy by 89% which is actually more effective than condoms - condoms have a 14-15% fail rate (According to the American Pregnancy Association). Most women will have their next menstrual period at the expected time or within a week of the expected time. If your menstrual period is delayed beyond 1 week, you may be pregnant.. but really, it sounds like you did everything right.. do your best to relax.

jump up and down till it all comes out.

Plan B works! You're fine, Sweetie. Don't worry now.

stop worrying so much about it.

Honestly, you did all that you could.
Whatever happens happens and you have options no matter what.

ABORTION? lol only LEGALLY allowed during the first 2 months when baby is a fetus. After 2 months when baby has fingers and toes and head and looks like a human being it will be considered MURDER. and you'll be tried for 1st degree murder. OUCH. i suggest slapping your bf upside the head.

the same exact thing happened to me. plan b works wonders. my boys condom actually fell off and i took it an hour later. it has been a month and i have had my period. no worries.

a lot of semen is normal after sex.

if it is a week before and after ur usual period time, then no need to worry. it wunt do anyth to u.

chill out mama youll be ok the plan b is miracle

yeah plan b should work

Well, the sooner you take Plan B the better, So if you took it 30 minutes after having sex, you should not get pregnant. If you do get pregnant, it is important to remember that you always have a choice. Do not allow anyone to tell you that the decision is not yours. Best wishes for you -Alan

So first off your fine... second off i notice you ask a lot of really random and not to be rude but questions a sexually uneducated person would ask... can i suggest maybe getting on the pill? go to planned parenthood, and they'll help ya out! then you want have to mess with those stupid condoms!

Oh yeah Plan B will work for you.

Don't worry about a thing.

You'll probably be fine if you took Plan B so soon after sex. It is pretty effective, and remember there's no guarantee you would have become pregnant anyway.

Washing the area won't really make a difference.

But you must just try to relax you have done all you good and hopefully the Plan B will work for you. Most women get a period shortly after taking it like a week or two, so you won't have to wait too long.

This happened to me too, with no unplannned pregnancy resulting. I rushed off to the pharmacy, to be told that they weren't able to dispense the medication, and to come back to the local hospital (about 6 hrs later), and they would give me the medication then, as the time delay wouldn't matter as long as I got it within the appropriate time window.

As long as you follow the instructions on the packet, you should be fine. The chance of getting pregnant isn't that high. I presume you realise that condoms aren't 100 percent effective? If you are really worried about getting pregnant, you may wish to use two methods of birth control simutaneously in future.
