Can a woman breastfeed after the menopause?!

Question: Breast feeding to a degree relies on the breast being stimulated. So "wet nurses" could be much older than you may have expected, because they were constantly breast feeding someone baby.

As a rule though breast feeding isn't possible after the menopause without the help of extra hormones.

I would not imagine so, unless some form of hormone treatment were to be used.

For a woman to lactate (produce milk) naturally, they need to have been pregnant. If you have been though the menopause you can't be pregnant, so I guess that would be a no.

Why would you want to Breastfeed after menopause ? there would be no baby cause you cannot get pregnant......
