Haha, I started when i was in 7th grade and I was at school so I went to the nurse (because I thought I was dying! No one said that it was a lot of blood! I was under the influence that it was going to be a little spot). LoL, so anyways, the nurse made me call my mom and I was scared but I figured I needed the comfort. So I called and this is what she said (.....ew.......that's grose.....) Haha. Very uncomforting might I add!

No I was always close to my Mom and told her almost everything and expecially about my period because she could understand. Plus when I first started my period she promised the week off of school and to buy me a new outfit for school. I thought back then that was cool. We didn't have a whole lot of money so that was pretty special. Oh and a special dinner and lunch the day I started. My Mom made it up to be so very important and a special event. I loved my Momma.
yes there are many people who are embarrassed about personal matters like that. The thing is, is to definitely NOT be so embarrassed about it, espectcally not to other girls, because of the simple fact, is that were all going through the same thing. The best thing to not be embarrassed, but don't be scared to ever ask for help, because one day you will find that asking another girl for help, will make your day all that much better =)

most girls dont have a good relationship with their mom and I feel bad for them because my mom and I are like best friends, I tell her absolutely everything. I know I can trust her. You should never be embarrassed about telling your mom about your period or teenage issues because, believe it or not, she was also a teenage girl once.
My mother didn't know for 5 years. I was not close with my mom and didn't tell her. Finally she stopped having her period, and asked me if I had mine because her tampons were missing.
So she found out, but I had no help at all and it was HORRIBLE. I didn't even know I had a hole in my body until months after I discovered a tampon. It was scary and I advise you to tell your mother if at all possible :)
Lol, yes. I didn't tell and she found out months later when she was doing laundry. She was surpised I didn't tell, but very understanding. I was simply embarrassed but now I know it's nothing to be embarrassed about.
Yes lol when I first got my period i was changing out of my clothes to get in the shower when i noticed and i was kinda like "o crap!" you know? cause my under ware was white and i was really scared cause it came out brownish and i thought it was supposed be bright red. anyway after my shower and some thinking about how to tell my mom, i just went in her room after changing into my pj's and was just kinda like "umm mom? when i was changing i noticed there was this brown stuff in my under ware..." LOL i know it sounds stupid but then she was like "o my gosh! you just got your first period!" it wasn't that bad trust me.
Yes. I didnt tell my mom or my dad that had started my period till my 4th "round" on it. I had just turned 10 y/o I was scared to to know what my mom would say like she would get mad at me for getting something so natural. I think at it now and I just was not mentally ready for it, so I hid my pads that I used (my mom used tampons but she had tons of pads too) in the trash can in my room and cried many times because I wasn't prepared for all this stuff. But finally I had used up all of the pads I had to tell my mom, and found out she wasn't mad at me.

It happened at school, and when I came home I was embarrassed and started to cry and my mom asked what was wrong and I just couldn't tell her, so she guessed all kinds of things until she asked if i got my period and i nodded. I don't know why I was so ashamed/embarrassed/upset.... but I was, and she calmed me down and gave me a bunch of different pads/tampons and that was that.
