Naprogesic works really well but to make it more effective you should start taking them as soon as your period starts (if the pain doesn't come first). This just means that the drug is in your system and working when the pain starts. Taking the recommended daily dose for the duration of your period means you have continual pain relief the whole time. Make sure you take it with or after food as it can upset your stomach. For the nausea you can take a drug called metoclopramide. This is a anti-emetic which can control nausea and vomiting. In Oz we have a product called Metomax which contains this drug plus paracetamol and it works very effectively for migraines and period pain. Apparently the paracetamol enhances the effect of the metoclopramide.

If you want to go natural you can start taking magnesium, vitamin b6, evening primrose oil and fish oils. Magnesium is great for muscle tension and should be taken daily, B6 is good for bloating and fluid retention, evening primrose oil is good for cramping and fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory. As with any complimentary medication you should give it at least 8 weeks before you can say - yes it works or no it doesn't.

Exercise is another good one. Not something everyone wants to do when they are in pain but a few stretches and yoga poses are good for relaxing you therefore taking your mind off the pain. Also if you a larger person loosing weight can greatly help you at that time of the month.

Hope this helps!

Pain in menstruation without any pathological/clinical findings is called PRIMARY DYSMENORRHEA & is usually coupled with nausea, vomiting, headach & diarrhea. Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are helpful e.g. Ibuprofen, Ketoprofen, Mefenamic acid, & Naproxen. Birth control pills (oral contraceptives) are also helpful specially in conditions with Endometriosis. I hope that this can help you.

use heomeopathy. it works but u should take from correct doc and maintain correct time.

Dong Kwai or Dong Quai or Tang Kwei is a root used for the treatment of female gynecological ailments, particularly menstrual cramps, irregularity, and malaise during the menstrual period. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of menopause. It is also known as Angelica sinensis. It works at its best with vitamin E, B6, and zinc.

Start tab pyricontin(modi mondifarma) one tab 7 days before your period date and continue it for 3 days during menutral period (means you will take 10 tablets every month for three cycles=30 tabs in three months) and ofcourse during periods you take tab meftal spas one tab three times a day (after taking some food)+tab rantac D one tab two times a day(before meals)+hot water bottle or heating pads if required+salt restriction is also advised in some books as there is water retention during periods.Within or after three months you will get maximum relief.Start these medicines only if you have not started oral contraceptives.
