Anyone been prescribed/taken a migraine med AKA Esgic or Fioricet while pregnant!

Question: I suffer from migraine headaches. During my 1st trimester I didn't take anything for them, during the 2nd I was prescribed butal/apap/caff plus tab wsw AKA Esgic and Fioricet. I never took them b/c the headache was too bad to go to pharmacy. Now in the 3rd trimester I get them once a week. Tempted to take the meds, but worried about pregnancy. My OB is the doc that wrote the script, so he clearly knows about drugs and pregnancy, but I cant find too much info besides "consult your doc" and thats obviously common sense with all medications while pregnant. He's out of the office until Tuesday (early Sun now) so I either need to find a pharamsist on call or go into L&D and speak to the doc there. Thought I'd ask here first if anyone has experienced this or taken this med while pregnant.
Thanks

Fiorcet is a category C for pregnancy, meaning that the effects on the fetus are not known. You should only take the medication if the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.

I, personally, haven't taken it while pregnant, but I know other pregnant women that have, and it really helped.

One thing to keep in mind: headaches during pregnancy can be a sign of serious complications like preeclampsia. If you have visual disturbances or changes in vision, severe swelling, or severe abdominal pain, I would call the doctor right away.

well I would just call your local emergency room, they should be able to tell you what to do. I can't imagine it doing much harm taking one today to relieve the pain. especially if he prescribed it to you while you were pregant. my sister in law is pregant right now and she has been getting morphine shots which are very very strong, so if she can get those pregant i'm sure you'll be okay. I would just take one tonight try to get some rest and then get into the doc asap or call the ER they are always nice to give info
