Getting pregnant while on the BCP?!

Question: I was just wondering.. I'm 22 years old and I have been on the pill for a few days now. The DAY I went on the pill (the day after my period) we had sex. Is it possible for me to be pregnant? After I had sex I read somewhere that you can still get pregnant your first month on BCP. I am also wondering, does anyone know if it's possible to get pregnant while on BCP? Already I haven't been taking them at the same time everyday. I have irregular periods without the aid of birth control pills so something's telling me i'm infertile or don't ovulate anyway.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks!

You can get pregnant if you haven't been taking the pill long on regularly. If you don't get regular on the pill, be sure to tell your doc. Just because your periods are irregular doesn't mean you are infertile. I had irregular periods all my life and have 2 boys. I go sometime 3-4 months in between and sometimes every month. The pill should help. Don't worry about a bunch of tests until you try to have a baby and only then if their is a problem.

The birth control pill is not effective until you have been on it for a week. some brands up to a month so there is a chance you could be pregnant if it was unprotected. i would go see a docot or in a few days take a pregnancy test. It is always possible to get pregnant while on the pill. its only 99% effective. If you think you are infertile or don't ovulate you should also see a doctor to see if thats true or something is wrong causing your periods to be liike that.

There is always a risk of pregnancy while taking birth control. The pill can usually take the first pack (first month) to have "full effect" according to most manufacturers.

The pill is only listed as 80% effective against pregnancy, and that is a generous estimate. It is important that you do take the pill at the same time, every day. If you are unable to do this, talk with your OB, there are other options (monthly pills, shots, etc..)

So in short, yes, you could easily be pregnant, anytime you have sex, with or without a condom and/or BC.

Pill isn't effective for at least a month, so you could definitely be pregnant. Take a test, $10 is worth it.

Of course you could be pregnant.

NOTHING is 100% except for abstinence.

The pill is ONLY 99% effective when taken correctly.

Also, the first few weeks of just starting the pill you also need to use a condom.

Take a pregnancy test.
