Large amount of thick, light peachy-yellow vaginal discharge with flakes of gela!

Question: Been on the pill for about a year now,no problems. Recently started using contraceptive foam instead of condoms. Seemed fine until a few days ago. I've had a lot of discharge. It seems to be a mix of 2 types. Most of it is chunky, thick and creamy yellowish(almost peachy). Then in that, there seems to be the stringy egg-white type, but not clear, yellowish, and there are random strings of light brown ones with dark brown in it. Blood? Some of it also seems clearer and flaky. Kinda like tiny pieces of shredded plastic wrap but gelatin like. Odd, I know. Never seen that before. Yesterday, after wiping my vag, noticed blood, not really part of discharge but seemed like a couple droplets of it, bright red.
It is scented, and my gyno said I was probably sensitive to soaps and I can't have bubble baths or anything of the like, or it will result in a yeast infection.
One of my friends has apparently tried this foam and also had an infection.
So is this an infection or wha

It actually sounds like you may have developed an irritation and inflammation internally from the foam..the brown substance is old blood. yellowish substance is usually sign of infection. Clear substance is just normal body mucuos but you sound like you are having an over production of mucuos which can be caused when your body is having an allergic reaction to the foam. Make an appointment with your GYN and she can take a swab of the internal area to be sure you did not develop an infection from the irritation caused the an allergic reaction by the foam because sometimes it can get a little raw (thus the blood) and with your bodies normal bacteria or yeast internally you can develop and infection whether it be yeast or bacteria. Stop using the foam and call your doc.

YEs girl! you may eventually develop a yeast infection. Especially if you contine to use the foam. Stop trying new things and stick to the normal contraceptives.

Contraceptive foam is usually nonoxynol-9. It can be very irritating, especially if you're sensitive to anything down there. I tried the contraceptive jelly and had major problems. I then tried the contraceptive film, and found it wasn't as irritating. I did find that one weekend where I used it a whole lot, it was still irritating, but still not nearly as bad as the jelly was. Have a doctor check you out to make sure you don't have an infection. But you're most likely going to want to stop using the foam.
