The decision to take accutane is between you, your parents, and your doctor, but from personal experience it can do wonderful things if you have bad acne. My 2 brothers and I used it and boy did we need it, we all had horrible scarring acne. It took a while to get used to and my face was dry for a while, but it really helped and made a significant improvement. I felt better because I was able to wear less make up and still feel comfortable. I know that some people say that it can cause depression or suicidal thoughts, but your doctor will monitor you for those effects and if you feel that way at all you need to tell them. Also I don't know if you are sexually active or not but when I was taking accutane they made me take pregnancy tests every few months (even though I wasn't sexually active) because there can be severe birth defects if you get pregnant while you are taking it. I hope that helped!
