I was in the same situation last year, just go shopping with her and go when you get to that section: 'can i try these mum?' I did and wondered after what I was so worried about!

Hope I helped! x x x

Why are you hiding it? Nothings wrong with tampons.

get some money and buy your own at the store. Their easy to buy it's not like it's illegal or anything. Get about 10 buks and walk over to a corner store.

why are you stealing tampons? why don't you just TELL your mom that you're going to use tampons from now on?

Tell her you want to change to tampon...She'll understand..why would you have to take it from her? (pads are messy huh...)

why are you hiding it? your mom should be expecting that you're getting it and all so i really doubt she'll care if some are missing, just tell her and she'll probably get you some

Be mature about the situation and just tell her...Let her know that u have experience tampons and u are more comfortable with them than pads...one step 2 being a woman...be real...tell the truth...she will respect u more...

You should talk to your mum. There is absolutely nothing wrong with tampons, and I'm sure your Mum would agree.

Go into any supermarket and ask for something fluffy with wings. If you are in luck, they might suggest that you stick an owl down your knickers ..................

Don't worry about what your mum will think - just tell her you'd like to use tampons instead - almost everyone does because it's so convenient.

Just make sure you use the ones that are right for you. You should always use the ones that are the lowest for your flow and if you've just started your period that's unlikely to be the same as your mum. Try minis or standard ones to start with and see how it goes. If it's still very white when you take it out then switch down a level and if you're having to change them more than once every 6 - 8 hours then you should switch up. Can be uncomfortable for a little while when you first use them - make sure you wiggle them about until you find the position where you can't feel them any more and make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you've taken out the old one before you put the new one in.

Talk to your mum about it. I am sure she won't mind. I swapped to tampons on my very first period- sanitary towels grossed me out.

dont be scared of buyin them. its nothing people in shops dont even look at what there putting through a till, they put so much through. its no problem at all i was scared when i first started but it will wear off ... promise.

haha,,i was in the same situation as u just last year,,i did the stupid thing and took some from mom, friends, anywhere i went cuz i was embarresed to ask her and couldnt get them myself,,,,
you can do 1 or 2 things

1. just be mature and ask ur mom if u can start using tampons because u dont like pads,,,who does they get gross and smell lol,,so she should understand
2. if ur still 2 shy or w/e to ask ask ur mom if u can go shopping with ur friends 2 a store that has tampons and other stuff like makeup or clothes,,example would be target
but they cost about $8 a box so i think it would be silly 2 spend that much of ur own money if u dont have 2,,so i think it would be best 2 just ask,,u could say hey mom im out of pads and then go with her when she goes shopping and while ur there say hey why dont i try these tampons lol,, w/e is easiest for u,,i totally understand how uncomfortable it is 2 talk 2 ur mom about,,im still not comfortable with it but its a part of life so dont feel embarressed and just ask,,good luck =)

You dont say how old you are.......but if you want to use tampons, i see nothing wrong with this. My 14 yr old daughter started her periods recently, and has used tampons right from the start. As for your mum noticing if any have gone missing......she probably already has, but wants to save your embarassement. Do you have any money of your own....if so, buy your own tampons, and keep them in your bedroom. That way you can feel free to use them and not have to answer to your mum. Just remember that your mum was your age once, and has gone through the same things as you....so its nothing new to her. Why dont you just talk to her casually on the subject. .....you know, in general terms. Ask her how she feels about periods in general, and what sanitary protection she prefers......then you could say that you would like to try tampons....then see what she says. Good luck.

Tell your mum.
If you can't confide in your mum who else will you tell.
Ure mum will understand and if you don't feel comfortable telling your mum just keep using towels until uve settled with having your periods considering you've only had them for 2 months =]
But tell you're mum
She's been through the same as you when she was a teen. =]

the fact is that you have graduated to a neater way of handling your monthly. I would suggest you talk it over with your mother and tell her about the advantages that you have found in using tampons. (1) It contains your drainage inside you. (2) You would be able to go swimming. (3) There is no bulk discomfort. I'm sure your mom would understand, and please let her know that you have been using hers.

just tell her....the only thing is--if u r under 18 u need to be careful b/c tampons have been linked to reyes syndrome in young adults. it is very rare but very dangerous. talk to your mom first.

Are you saying that your mom doesn't know you have your period? Cause if you are I know what its like. I got my first period in November and it was REALLY hard for me to tell my mom but I just forced myself to tell her. I really had no other choice because she doesn't have periods anymore (long story) so I couldn't steal pads from her. Trust me, your life will be so much easier if you just tell her.
