For those who use?!

Question: tampons, okay, so u know how they say that ur not supppost to wear tampons for more than 8 hrs, wat do u do when u go to sleep & u usually sleep for more than 8 hrs? do u just wake up in the middle of the night to change it then go back to sleep? What if its hard 4 u to wake up, do u set an alarm or something? And another one, what do you do about leakages? Do wear something to back up, like a panty liner?

change it often enough for it not to leak, but if you flow heavy, wear a panty liner.

i suggest pads at night, you can keep sleeping and its healthier to switch between the two then to just use tampons.

I've never had a problem wearing them at night...if its a heavy flow I will wear a backup pad.

wear pads at night

Thats why you wear a pad at night.

definetely wear something to back it up, and if you sleep for more than 8 hours you need to find a life. No just kidding. It will be fine, just as long as you aren't sleeping 12 hours or something...and you know that you are increasing your chances of toxic shock syndrome.

You are supposed to wear the pads for bed. and if you have your period bad u can use a thick on or use more that 1 pad and put a towel under you too but only if youre having it heavy

I just wear it all night and change it in the morning when I wake up -- have never had a problem. My mom and sis too.

I don't have leaks, but people I know who do use a light panty liner.

i usually sleep through the entire night but change as soon as i get up!i also usually wear a pad so my sheets dont get all bloody!

i just wear it all night and use a pad for backup

i ignore the 8hour thing although TSS is at risk if you leave it in

but also TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) is very rare

I'd wear pads at night.

it's not going to kill you if you leave them in for longer than 8 hours. tss is very rare these days. put one in before bed and change it as soon as you wake up...you'll be fine.

You can keep it on, or if you are that worried don't wear one when you go to bed. Switch and wear a regular Kotex. It's probably better for you to have a break.

i dont wear tampons, but i can help u change it especially when ure a sleep. Thank me

I don't sleep in tampons. I use pads to sleep in but I would use a panty liner if I was to sleep in a tampon. I don't keep a tampon in over 3 hours.

thats what they "say"...i mean during the day id change it more often but at night u should be fine...and if u wake up in the middle of the night just change it..if not its perfectly fine...and yea u can wear a pad also just so u dont leak in ur bed or nething

It's not really a good idea to wear a tampon while you're sleeping, for the reasons you just said! It shouldn't be left in too long and its too hard to wake up in the middle of the night to change it! I've actually heard that you can actually get some sort of infection if you do leave it in too long, but I'm not quite sure. Just use pads while you sleep. And yes, it's a good idea to wear a panty liner while wearing a tampon.

I don't sleep in tampons because of the leaks and because I don't want to break my sleep to change them. If you decide to sleep in it, you should set an alarm so you wake up to change it about 4-5 into your sleep. Also, wearing a pad as backup while you sleep will help catch leaks. Good luck!

If I plan on sleeping more than 8 hours, I do set my alarm for me to wake up and change the tampon. I always wear tampons and a thin panty liner in case I leak I don't want the stain on my underwear. I know some girls who do use tampons, and regular pads (not liners). It all depends on how light or heavy the blood flow is. But it is common to use a tampon and panty liner. I had the same questions when I first got my period.

They say your not suppost to wear them more than eight because when your moving if you wear it more than eight hours it gets very uncomfortible!! an when you go to sleep back up is very highly suggested!!

im only 13 and i dont know how old u are so this might not be the same for you. but anyway dont wear tampons at nite becuz 1. if you wear it too long it could increase your chance of getting TSS( toxic shock syndrome) and could result in death
2. when you wake up they are always drenched and it feels really gross.
3. use pads at night. if you have to, double up.

well i have wore it more then 8 hours before, but try not to coz its not healthy or something. For leakage..when im sleeping i use a tampon and wear a pad. and no u dont need to wake up in the middle of the night, just sleep through it. thats what i do haha.

I have a really heavy flow. I usually set my alarm to get up every three hours and I wear and overnight pad with my tampon. On my heavy flow days my sleep is interrupted at least twice in a night because i don't want to deal with the nasty accident that could occur.

Well...I usually go buy Stay Free pads, the long ones for when I sleep so i dont have to wear a tampon and have to get up in the middle of the night. The long pads cover the leakages so you dont have to worry.

ok i am 16 and i have wondered this also but i found out that change it before you go to bed and under it were a xta thickk pad in casee it has alwayz worled for mehh and mi couzin hu is 25

when you wake up, change the tampon, if you bleed alot and it sounds as if you do, use a liner...

I generally just put on in last thing before I go to bed and take it out as soon as I wake up in the morning (which may be roughly 9 hours). I have been doing that since I started my periods 11 years ago and I am still alive. I think my cervix is weirdly angled because I have never had leakages at night, despite having unfunnily heavy periods.

i like to use a role of bounty and a rope..it lasts longer!!!

At like Walgreen's they sell these pads that are extra long and hold more....you know......there called Always Overnights (I think) and they have never leaked when I use them.

you can sleep all night with it, but i would wear a bad underneath

I usually sleep 8-10 hours & don't wake up easy, so I wear a pad. But, one of my friends changes her tampon right before bed and as soon as she wakes up & never has a problem.
