Do i have less of a chance of getting preggers if i have sex right after my peri!

Question: no, thats what my friend thought to now they have a little boy! remember the sperm can live inside the vagina for up to 3 days!!! you shouldn't be having sex if you are not fully aware of all the possibilities including pregnancy- birth control or condoms are NOT 100% fool proof either.

Use addtl spermicide with condom. If he is balking at the condom use another method you control. Rhythm method has high fail rate. You can only use with constant reliable cycle. IUDs avail without hormone. No pill 2 rembr 2 take. Report It

  • not for sure why not use a condom or get some kind of birth control

no, use a form of birth control

Planned parenthood can be your best friend for these kind sof situations. I suggest birth control since, yes the sperm can be quite effective without you wanting it to be. Condoms are also a plus, though i don't use them myself and have yet to get pregnant after 1 1/2 years without. Another easy but nowhere near fullproof method is simply having him pull out. This doesn't eliminate the chance of the precum getting to you, but it still lowers the chances just that much more of you getting preggers.

Actually this time of your cycle can be very fertile. A woman usually ovulates 5-6 days after their period ends and sperm can survive in the body up to 5 days, so I would be very careful if you don't want to be pregnant.

It all depends on when you ovulate really. MOST women ovulate around day 14 but some are sooner and some are later (I for example ovulate a little later). Plus sperm can stay inside of you for up to 3 days so if you ovulate a little early you could possibly get pregnant, but using a condom does reduce your chances if it is used properly. I suggest you look into getting on some kind of birth control to help keep your mind at ease.

I conceived my second child the day after my period ended. If you're truly frightened of becoming pregnant, and aren't ready to support a baby, I'd suggest having your boyfriend use a condom, and you can get on some other type of secondary birth control (the pill, the patch, the shot, etc.)
