Why did a Bartholin's cyst form while on antibiotics?!

Question: On my 5th day of taking Metronidazole 500 Mg tablets twice daily for 7 days for a Bacterial vaginitis infection I developed a Bartholin's Cyst on the left vulva. Now my left thigh in the groin and my left buttocks is very sore & painful. I also feel like I am trying to come down with a cold. What is going on? The antibiotic is making me feel sick or did it bring infection to a head in the form of the Bartholin's cyst? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Metronidazole is an anti fungal treatment. Fungus and bacteria are different and one treatment tends to not work on the other. It sounds to me like you need to be treated for a bacterial infection. You need to contact you doctor immediately and ask the doctor what needs to be done next. Dont ignore this though. Your symptoms sound like an infection!
