Help with SEVERE menstrual cramp pains? READ.?!

Question: You hear stories of women he have bad cramps, well me...this is just OUT OF HAND.

This is the first time in a long time I've gotten such drastic cramps. It is so bad, that I was in church tonight, yelled, and then fainted. As well as feeling like someone punched me in the stomach REALLY hard about 4 times in a row and wanting to throw up, it makes me dizzy, and I cant eat.

It doesnt happen like this too often, just like once a year. Ive tried a hot bath, lying down, chocolate. None of it has helped. I dont wanna be in pain for Christmas. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Severe period pains should always be investigated to check for a treatable cause. As a rough guide, if you've had severe period pain (known as dysmenorrhoea) since around the time your periods first started, it's less likely a particular cause will be found.

There are exceptions to this though. Conditions such as endometriosis can sometimes cause severe pain from an early age (although the pain typically gets worse as the disease does more damage with each monthly cycle). Other causes include fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease and sometimes a narrowing of the cervix. Bear in mind, though, that period pains are rarely a sign of disease, especially in younger women.

If the pain begins to interfere with your life, preventing you from working or coping with daily tasks and especially making you faint, I would recommend you consult with a doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation.

Good luck :)

Chocolate (and other products with caffeine) make it worse. You need to see your OB/GYN NOW to see what's wrong. You could have something physically wrong, or you might just need to have your symptoms lessened with hormones. I don't know what is best for you, but you and your doctor need to find out together.

As for getting through the holidays, take two mydol, lay down with a heating pad, and AVOID caffeine!!!

Well chocolate makes cramps worse..Take some kind of anti inflammatory like ibuprofen..That helps with my cramps..Hope this helped. Good luck and god Bless

Merry Christmas!

I don't have any solutions for now, but call your doctor and get put on birth control. It will make your periods lighter and the cramps won't be near as bad. I take a dose of Tylenol everyday of my period cramps or not bc I cramp awful also, and about 2-3 days before. That was a doctor recommendation. Good Luck though.

Take three or four ibuprofen every six hours. This is, of course, unless you are allergic, or ibuprofen bothers your stomach.
The ibuprofen will help significantly with both pain, and flow.
