Should I go on the pill?!

Question: Okay so I am a virgin, but not sure when I may become sexually active.

Im 16 and I have a physical with my primary care doctor in about a month. I have never been to a gyno.

Lately I have been having really bad skin problems (breakouts) and my periods havent been normal in about a year.

I dont really have an open relationship with my mom so I dont know how to ask her if I can. I dont want her to think I'm doing it for sex.

What should I do?

I think it's a great idea for a girl your age to go on BC because when you're ready to have sex it'll be in your system already! Plus the benefits for regualted periods, relief from PMS and the list goes on!

The pill may be a good idea, bring it up with your doctor, and have them suggest it to your mom for the reasons you mentioned. It really does help, and it can alleviate menstrual cramps too.

Many people get the pill for the same exact reasons you have. You don't have to have sex in order to go on the pill. But just because you are on the pill, don't feel like you have to have sex or it is safer to have sex. Don't do it until you are ready.

I think it's a good idea. Talk to your doctor about it, even if you aren't sexually active it has good benefits for your skin, and regulation of your period. Your primary doctor will probably suggest you go get your physical from the gyno though. I'm not sure if they can prescribe the pill.

i think u should go on the pill after all u wud be safer.
