If you are on birth control you can stop your period. In a BC perscription there are 3 weeks of actual BC pills and one week of placebo (remonder pills). Instead of taking the placebo you start a new pack of BC. You will want to do this a month before you plan to stop your period because the first time you do this you might spot.

probably easiest to control with the pill. There are shots and implants but this will be the least invasive. You can time your pills so that you will be period free during that time.

... You can get on a pill that you don't have to have your period at all. Its called Lybrel. If you are skeptical about that you can also get on Seasonal... which you get your period 4 times a year. There is no medical reason why a woman needs a period if she is not ovulating. They are safe and you won't have your period for your holiday.

There is a shot your doctor can give you, just about the time you are going to have your period, to start it one of two days early. If you start next spring and move your period up each month a day or two, by the time you get to Dec, you will be able to have it over with, before you go on your trip.
I did this before I got married, and that was a long time ago, doctors have always been able to do this. But you need to start, at least 7 months in advance. I think women, need to wait for a while before stopping their periods altogether, seems doctors always discover that something is wrong about ten years after things like this, are released.

You could start the pill and instead for letting your cycle flow you would just take your active pills stright for the month of Sep./ Oct. But to be on the safe side you might want to go see a OB or their nurse who could explain it better Good Luck!!!!!!!

Wow you may end up not having it, lots of things can change when your period will start (stress, pregnancy, etc) so don't worry about it till about four months out.

Even then, I'd say just take some pads and tampons (if you are swimming) and don't let your period run your life. I went on a Caribbean cruise and I was on my period and still had a blast with my fiance!
