Has anyone tried to stop there period with their contraceptive pill?!

Question: Im not on the pill. I have an important occasion coming up on Friday night. I dont want to have my period for it but I think I might end up having it by then. I know I can stop my period using the pill as I used to do it before. I just cant remember how quickly it works. Does anyone who has done it before know how long it takes?

If you start taking it like, today or tomorrow, you shouldn't get it. But then maybe stop taking it, or let yourself get your period next time, because if not, you'll get in unexpectedly during the second month and it'll be heavier, because there's more lining and stuff to get rid of. ><

takes a whilel for it to adjust doesnt it?
i dont know. try and see?

Used to do it all the time. Keep taking the pill and don't stop until ready to have a period.

It depends on which pill. Talk to your doctor.

You can push it back using the pill, but it takes a month (one pill pack) to do it.

There is not enough time for you to do it in time for Friday night.

You cannot stop the periods completely on the pill. Your body will make you have one. I know because I tried it.

I think you can do it by not taking the last 7 pills if its a 28 day pack and going right into the next pack. (the last 7 pills are plecebos and do not contain anything. They are simply there so you do not get out of the habit of taking a pill everyday). If its a 21 day pack you can just start the next pack right away instead of waiting the 7 days.
I'm not sure that its healthy though. Why don't you get on the Depo-Provera shot, then you'll never have a period. Or do the new pills that only allow you 4 periods a year.

I know my girlfriend did this once. Don't you just start your new pack immediately and thats it? Should prevent you from having your period before you're supposed to. Based on my understanding, you get your period during the placebo pill phase , so if you just skip those pills and continue with the next pack= no period. I could be totally wrong, girlfriend is out of town and i cant ask her.
