Is my viral pink eye still contagious?!

Question: Is my viral pink eye still contagious?
This is my 5th day taking the prescribed eye drops. My doctor said it should last 4-5 days after I started. It's only in one eye, it's still a little pink but not as bad as it was. Is it contagious until it starts getting better or until my eye is completely white?

Probably, but it depends on which website your reading. Most suggest that viral conjunctivitis is not contagious once the eye stops tearing and producing a discharge, usually 5-7 days. Since pink eye is so contagious, I would continue to take precautions for another 2 days to avoid transmitting the disease to your healthy eye and those you live with. I'm sure the doctor has instructed you to wash your hands frequently and keep your bath items (towels etc) separate from those you live with.
