20/20 is considered normal eyesight. it's definitely not the best eyesight you can have, but with 20/20 there's no need for glasses.
20/30 eyesight is worse than 20/20, although not by much. It means that you see from 20 feet what a person with normal eyesight (20/20) would see from 30 feet.
The average level of eyesight for a healthy adult is 20/10
it means that you need to stand 20 feet away to read the eyechart as clearly as someone with 20/20 standing 30 feet away.
20/10 is the average for most healthy adults
it then goes downwards like this
20/20
20/25
20/30
20/40
20/50
20/70
20/100
20/200
If you have worse eyesight than 20/200 you wouldn't be able to read a single letter off a standard eyechart (from 20 feet away)

20/30 means that you need to be 20 feet away from what the average eye can see from 30 feet.
Good luck

That a perfectly visioned person sees the same image from 30 feet that you need to be 20 feet to see the same exact way.
In other words, your vision is not perfect.
you need glasses to correct your eyes.
you need glasses...
