Question: I'm short, can i go see my local surgery about it?!?
well... i'm nearly 16 but my height is still just 4ft 11...
i heard that we only grow till we are 18 then we stop growing (22 for some people - rare)
i m desperate to grow taller. Can I go see my local surgery about it?
or if you guys have any good advices on how to grow taller: the food, exercise; or where should i go to??
help...

You stop growing at 21. BUT some people can stop earlier.
Well in my opinion you shouldn't change the way you look, you are who you are I'm 14 and am 5,11 and still got more to grow. Your 15 so you haven't finished growing yet either, you could try a high calci diet but certainly don't overdose on this (protein would be better)
Sorry to say but there isn't much you can do about this, I don't think their are surgeries to go "taller"
But there's nothing wrong with you in being small, your a person like everybody else :)

There is a surgery that can be done to lengthen the bones in your legs. It can add up to two to five inches to your height, but it can not be done until you have stopped growing, and it is painful, due to having to spread the healing gaps in the bones every day, until the end of the treatment period (which can be over a year in some cases depending on the amount of correction).

During the year you will be in a wheelchair because during treatment, you basically two broken legs, and depending on the surgeon, it may be your thigh bones that are treated or the two bones in your lower legs. (most common)

Insurance does not cover the surgery, unless its to get one leg to match the length of the other. (Something I had done as a child).

There is nothing they could do without putting you at a huge risk. But if you have skuliosis (easily diagnosable by your doctor) and get corrective surgery, you can grow several inches within an hour.

There is nothing wrong with being short. A smaller body also means less work for your heart, which results in a longer, and healthier, lifespan.
Your current height was the average height of the first female humans.
If people make fun of you tell them that you are not short, you are fun-sized!



You're very young and STILL GROWING. Give it time. Height absolutely depends on genetics. Take a look at your family - are they generally short or tall? This should give you a general idea on your future height. Although, in some cases you could be completely different than the rest of your family. But for now... you have plenty of time to keep on growing.



There isn't a surgery i know of but its really not worth it who cares what people think of you, you are who you are. Don't let people put you down. Its nothing to be ashamed of. I have a few short friends and i dont think of them any different than any other friend only time i really notice is when i hug them lol. But i like hugging my friends. Nothing to worry about.



I'm sorry but there's not much you can do about it, it's mostly genetic. The best advice would be to get a well balanced diet with plenty of protein (for growth) and plenty of exercise.
There's nothing wrong with being short though!



If you want to grow a bit taller naturally I have something that you might consider. There is a way you can grow 6 inches before your bone or growth plates seal up. First of all change you diet, you should eat foods high in protein and for good bone health dring milk and have some time in the sun so your body can produce vitamin D that is needed so the calcium can be obsorbed you can also get vitamin D in many dairy items as well as calcium. Protein is also needed to strenghten your tendent which can promote growth. Sleep is a big factor as well, and it also depends on the way you sleep. During your sleep you should sleep upright with a pillow (optional) or without one so your spine can be perfectly aligned. When you sleep your body produces small amounts of growth hormone's that help you grow which is why it is recommended to sleep 8 hours. Drinking milk 3 times a day could be a good choice or also taking multivitimans. There are exercises that you can do for your spine that help lengthen and fill your spine with spinal fluid on your disks that are between your spine. The exercise if done as directed will help you grow about 3 inches depending on how your spine is curved. Another thing that can help is called microfractures. It's what happens when a sudden shock is giving to the bones that makes them crack and then the bones start to repair itself. There is an exercise that could be done on the legs to lengthen them as well. I would tell you the exercises but you have to see it in order to understand how to do it but I can tell you the leg lengthning part. What you do is do an intensive leg workout that will cause the microfractures in you feet like jumping rope or jogging for 15 mintues. Afterward you get two 10lb leg braces and you put them around your leg, what this will do is stretch your bone cartilidge while the bones is reparing the bone fractures. In order for this to work your legs have to be elevated and no matter what you do don't stand up after putting the braces on or you will compress the bone and it won't stretch so it's reccomended to do it when you are going to sleep or hold on for 1 or 2 hours. It does feel uncomftorable so don't say i didnt tell you. Hopefully this helped and take care.
