How can I fix my glasses?!

Question: How can I fix my glasses?
My reading glasses just broke. The wire frame on the top of the left lens snapped. I've tried taping it together and while that lasts an hour or so it always comes apart. If I got some superglue would that fix it? If I walked into a random optometrist would they be able to fix it on the spot? Whats my best option, because without these glasses I'm damn near blind. Thank you in advance!

Answers:

I would suggest NOT using super glue, everyone I know who tried it either got glasses glued to their hand or fingerprints in glue all over the lenses! Sometimes the vapors from super glue leave a whitish deposit on the lenses. Maybe J-B weld or some other putty-like epoxy stuff (will need to clamp until it is hard).

I don't know what your prescription is, would a pair of the cheap, drugstore reading glasses be "close enough" to help temporarily?

You'll probably have to get new frames. I don't know if even an optometrist can fix a broken wire frame like that. You could call around to see, cause I don't know for sure.

Super glu does not work well when there are gaps in the materials. Epoxy glues, 2 part, work well with just about everything, but you must clamp the materials and let them cure.

if you can hold them in the correct position long ea enough use super glue !
