I am getting that done for dry eyes!. Have you heard of it!? Is it a normal thing thats done!? Any complications!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you are referring to collagen plugs rather than "small sponges"!. The purpose of collagen plugs is to TEST whether or not plugging your tear ducts will provide relief for your dry eye symptoms!. The collagen plugs last about 4 to 5 days and then dissolve!. If you notice improvement during these 4 to 5 days, then that means you would benefit from having non dissolvable plugs placed more permanently in the tear ducts!.
There are very few complications to these plugs but should they occur the plugs can be removed!. Plugging the tear ducts does not provide relief for all patients but it helps to some degree in many!.
