hmm, my first thought WAS pink eye!. but maybe you have a sty!. it's a bump that usually is on the corner or on your eye lid, sometimes it hides!. my last sty that i had was hidden in my eyelashes, right on the edge of my eye lid!. so try to look there!. but if you don't see anything, it could be allergies, or maybe you touched something that was infectionous & then you itched your eye!. it could be anything, but make sure you put 3 eye drops in your eye before you go to sleep, then do it in the morning, too! even if it starts looking better/starts feeling better, still take some eye drops!. feel better!Www@Answer-Health@Com
That sounds exactly like a stye!. The pain on blinking indicates the problem is likely either on the eyelid or on the surface of the eye; the lid redness and swelling confirms that!. Tenderness doesn't happen with everyone, but it's certainly a common finding with certain types of styes!. Allergies, on the other hand, aren't painful; usually they're itchy or gritty-feeling, but not painful!. Infections usually have some yucky discharge or watering, and usually are either on the eye or the lid, not both!.
Anyhow, treatment for styes ranges from doing warm compresses (take a washcloth, wet it in the hottest water you can stand without burning yourself, and put it over your closed eyes for 5-10min twice a day) to antibiotic pills!. You may find some relief from artificial tears (eyedrops) too!. If the pain and swelling persist, you should go see an optometrist or ophthalmologist -- they might give you some antibiotics, or even be able to drain it surgically, but they'll certainly have a better idea than me diagnosing you online!Www@Answer-Health@Com
