Question: Eyes - Contact lenses - deep clean with Saline!?
My optician says I should deep clean my annual contact lenses with saline solution once a month to kill any deposits on the lenses!. Is this correct!?

Saline doesn't clean at all!. It can be used in combination with enzyme tablets to provide a deeper clean, and should be used once a week if you are wearing a conventional, annual-replacement lens!. An alternative to this is a liquid protein remover such a supraclens which can be dropped into your case at night with the contact lenses and then rinsed thoroughly off before inserting the lenses into your eyes!. This type of protein remover can be used daily and works best with Optifree solution!. Of course, you should be cleaning with a multi-purpose solution (not plain saline) each night!.
