Astigmatism and contact lenses?!

Question: Astigmatism and contact lenses!?
My optician tells me that my contact lenses won't correct my astigmatism which is why my vision is poorer when wearing them!. Are there any contact lenses which will correct this!. I wear Specsavers daily disposalsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Specsavers do contact lenses for astigmatism!. I wear all day/all night lenses and I do have slight astigmatism!. I can see clearly with normal contact lenses, but they have told me that unless I wear the ones for astigmatism my vision won't be perfect!. I've always refused them though because they are more expensive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't recommend wearing daily contacts for astigmatism!. They are usually not as clear for vision as the monthly ones, which are also much more durable!. You would have to take care of monthly contacts with a solution, case, etc!., but they are almost always better for astigmatism!.
Bausch & Lomb PureVision Torics are a very good brand I usually recommend for astigmatism!.

But, I am just wondering, how severe is your astigmatism!? If it is very mild, you may not even need the extra expense of astigmatism correction!. If it is really worth it to you though, then I would switch brands, at least to the monthly or biweekly contacts!. Go to the eye doctor and get things sorted out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

are you long or short sighted!? there's a lot more available for the short sighted (which is of great annoyance to me!)!.

i am rather severely longsighted (between +4!.5 and +5!.5 depending on the eye and the optician!), and i have a nasty astigmatism!. HOWEVER, i can wear monthly contact lenses!. the ones you have to take out every night and clean!.

are you buying ones off a shelf!?! you shouldn't do that!. you need to order ones made specifically for your prescription if you have an astigmatism!. lenses that correct astigmatism are called toric lenses!. there's a few different makes and manufacturers, and there are some daily ones (although sadly not for one as blind as me)!. you need your optician to order you some made to your prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I attend a hospital for my lazy eye problem and the Doctor I see told me that contact lenses for an astigmatism will not correct that problem!.
I was also told this by my optician, Maybe you should try a different optician like say vision express and get their opinion!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Acuvue Advance has lenses for astigmatism!. Astigmatism correcting lenses are usually more expensive!. It is my understanding of the concept that they need to be weighted or something!. However, I've talked to people who have them and they always seem very pleased!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

For bi-weekly lenses, there are many!. The good ones are softlens toric, purevision toric, o2 optix toric!. Dailies are acv, focus dailies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess it might depend upon how bad the astigmatism is!.!.!.
I wore Bausch and Lomb soft contacts, not disposables!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are!. I can't remember the name of them, but I have astigmatism and had contacts for many years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
