The only "Must" circumstance for glasses is if you are illegal driving.
Beyond that we're in the categories such as "good idea" or "useful", and your personal preference is, finally, all that mattters.

You should get a examination, firstly to check that your eyes are healthy and that there's nothing behind the blurry vision except shortsight, and secondly to see exactly how much extra vision would be available to you.

You might then find there were times when that extra sharpness would be good, or useful.
(personally, driving, I want all the edge I can get, not the legal minimum... but I feel that way about my tyres too: driving kills people. 100 a day in the USA.)

Wearing or not wearing the glasses doesn't make the eyes better or worse (both myths are in circulation!) so that doesn't need to influence your choice.

Getting glasses can sometimes show up how blurred the vision actually was, which makes it feel like things are worse.
But getting a sharp knife doesn't suddenly blunt every other knife in the kitchen it just highlights the difference!

Go see an optometrist. They can correct any vision problems and check your optical health. It's better to be safe than sorry. See what they recommend, waiting a year or getting glasses right away. Find out if you are eligible for contact lenses (cheaper and more aesthetically pleasing). Eye tests are generally free, depending on where you live.

I would speak with a Ophthalmologist. He/she is a eye surgeon and can tell you whether surgery can fix the one eye and if the other eye will become bad. Lasik surgery is dropping now that it is a viable option nowadays. If you are too scared to have surgery, then your eye doctor can give you glasses that will correct the one eye.

First of all don't get glasses
get contacts
i have had glasses before but now have contacts, and if you think those minor issues won't go away, then your wrong. Also obviously you don't have to have contacts in both eyes, i used to have them in one.

if i were you i would get them as soon as possible.

before u r blind
